Texas Instruments UCG28828EVM-094 Evaluation Module (EVM)
Texas Instruments UCG28828EVM-094 Evaluation Module (EVM) enables designers to evaluate the operation and performance of the UCG28828 aux-less QR-flyback controller. This evaluation module demonstrates how the Texas Instruments UCG28828 drives a quasi-resonant flyback converter to achieve high efficiency throughout the load and the universal line input.
Features
- Integrated 750V GaN with 170mΩ Rds(on), dynamic QR/DCM/CCM modes of operation, and peak current mode controlled QR flyback converter
- Supports AC input voltage 90VAC to 264VAC at 43Hz - 63Hz line frequency and output power of 20V/5A, 24V/5A and 28V/4.3A
- This evaluation module can also be configured for 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A and 15V/3A with PFC disabled for all this output voltage
- High efficiency and low-standby power, and two-stage (PFC + Flyback) peak efficiency: > 93% efficiency at 115VAC input and approx. 95% efficiency at 230VAC input
- PFC needs a minimum of 20mA at a 20V output setting to enable the PFC circuit across the input voltage
- Self-bias and aux-less sense, integrated current sense, integrated HV startup, and integrated X-cap discharge enable the lowest BOM cost by integration
- Complete sets of protection features, which include OVP, OTP, Short circuit, overcurrent protection, and brown-in and out protection
- A discrete brown-out circuit is implemented for the UCC28056 PFC transition mode controller
- This evaluation module includes TI parts which are UCG28828, UCC28056, LMG3622, LM8364 and ATL431
Applications
- USB wall power adapter
- USB AC/DC adapter
- Battery charger
