Optek / TT Electronics OPB800W Wide Gap Slotted Optical Switches

Optek / TT Electronics OPB800W Wide Gap Slotted Optical Switches are high-flexibility, transmissive photointerrupters featuring a 0.375" (9.525mm) wide slot that integrates an infrared LED emitter and a silicon phototransistor detector. These optical switches are designed for remote mounting, providing 24" (610mm) 26AWG UL-insulated wire interconnects for versatile installation. The switches enable non-contact detection of motion, position, or object interruption with improved mechanical alignment tolerance compared to standard narrow-slot interrupters.

These OPB800W wide gap slotted optical switches from Optek / TT Electronics operate over a -40°C to +80°C temperature range, making them well-suited for industrial automation and equipment security applications. Built with an opaque injection-molded plastic housing, the assembly minimizes sensitivity to both visible and near-infrared ambient radiation. The wide-gap geometry and custom aperture options offer robust switching performance in complex mechanical assemblies where precision control may be limited.
