STMicroelectronics BlueNRG Bluetooth® Smart Solutions
STMicroelectronics BlueNRG BLUETOOTH® Smart Solutions are based on ST’s proprietary BlueCore technology and include both network and application processors in QFN-32 or WLCSP-34 miniaturized packages. ST’s BlueCore technology, powered by an embedded ST Bluetooth low-energy master and slave certified stack, features ultra-low power consumption and an excellent RF link budget for robust and reliable connectivity. STMicroeletronics BlueNGR Smart Solutions feature an optimized radio front-end and efficient power management architecture extend battery life from months to years. The on-chip non-volatile memory enables an easy and quick firmware upgrade, including in-the-field over-the-air (OTA) upgradability.ST Modules for Bluetooth Smart and Bluetooth Classic Technologies
Based on ST's device portfolio and equipped with an onboard antenna, crystal and balun, ST Modules for Bluetooth Smart and Bluetooth Classic Technologies offer a proven, robust, and quick time-to-market solution. The modules come with the embedded Bluetooth stack to provide a BQE end-product qualified solution that is also fully RF, ETSI, IC, and FCC certified. This ensures rapid integration into the final application and offers an easy-to-use solution. The ICs and modules are supported by an extensive set of evaluation boards, software development kits, application notes, and design guidelines to facilitate the adoption of Bluetooth wireless connectivity technology into a wide variety of application segments.
BlueNRG-MS
Bluetooth Low-Energy Network Processor Supporting Bluetooth 4.1 Core Specification
The BlueNRG-MS is a very low-power Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) single-mode network processor, compliant with Bluetooth specification v4.1. The BlueNRG-MS supports multiple roles simultaneously and can act at the same time as Bluetooth Smart sensor and hub device.
The Bluetooth Low-Energy stack runs on the embedded Arm® Cortex® M0 core. The stack is stored on the on-chip non-volatile Flash memory and can be easily upgraded via SPI. The device comes pre-programmed with a production-ready stack image (whose version could change at any time without notice). A different or more up-to-date stack image can be downloaded from the ST web site and programmed on the device through the ST provided software tools.
The BlueNRG-MS allows applications to meet the tight advisable peak current requirements imposed with the use of standard coin cell batteries. The maximum peak current is only 10mA at 1dBm of output power. Ultra low-power sleep modes and very short transition times between operating modes allow very low average current consumption, resulting in longer battery life. The BlueNRG-MS offers the option of interfacing with external microcontrollers using the SPI transport layer.
BlueNRG-1
Bluetooth Low-Energy System-On-Chip
The BlueNRG-1 is a very low-power BLE single-mode system-on-chip (SOC), compliant with Bluetooth specifications. The BlueNRG-1 extends the features of the award-winning BlueNRG network processor, enabling the usage of the embedded Cortex M0 to run the user's application code.
The BlueNRG-1 includes 160kB of programming Flash memory, 24kB of static RAM memory with retention (two 12kB banks) and SPI, UART, I2C standard communication interface peripherals. It also features multifunction timers, watchdog, RTC, and DMA controller.
An ADC is available to interface with analog sensors and to read the measurement of the integrated battery voltage sensor. A digital filter is available to process a PDM stream.
The BlueNRG-1 offers the same excellent RF performance of the BlueNRG radio, and the integrated high-efficiency DC/DC converter keeps the same ultra-low power characteristics, but the BlueNRG-1 improves the BlueNRG sleep mode current consumption allowing a further increase in the battery lifetime of the applications.
BlueNRG-2
Bluetooth® Low-Energy Wireless System-On-Chip
The BlueNRG-2 is a very low-power BLE single-mode system-on-chip, compliant with the Bluetooth specifications. The BlueNRG-2 extends the features of the award-winning BlueNRG network processor, enabling the usage of the embedded Cortex M0 for running the user application code.
The BlueNRG-2 includes 256kB of programming Flash memory, 24kB of static RAM memory with retention (two 12kB banks) and SPI, UART, I2C standard communication interface peripherals. It also features multifunction timers, watchdog, RTC, and DMA controller.
An ADC is available for interfacing with analog sensors, and for reading the measurement of the integrated battery voltage sensor. A digital filter is available for processing a PDM stream.
The BlueNRG-2 offers the same excellent RF performance of the BlueNRG radio, and the integrated high-efficiency DC/DC converter keeps the same ultra-low power characteristics, but the BlueNRG-2 improves the BlueNRG sleep mode current consumption allowing a further increase in the battery lifetime of the applications.
